Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do. The short version: we collect what we need to clean your clothes and get them back to you, we do not sell it, and this website does not track you.

1. Who we are

EZ Cleaners Plus is a dry cleaner, laundry and alterations shop at 50 Foreston Woods Dr, Unit 107, Stafford, VA 22554. We serve Stafford, Woodbridge and Fredericksburg. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means that business. When it says "the site", it means ezcleanersplus.com.

We are the business that decides what happens to the information described here.

2. What we collect

If you send us a request or a message

The details you type into a pickup request, a membership request or the contact form: usually your name, phone number, email address, pickup address, the service you want, the day you would like, and any notes you add. Pickup and membership requests are sent straight to our point of sale system. Contact form messages are emailed straight to our shop inbox. If you tell us about a gate code, a stain, or how you want something handled, we keep that with the request because it is the instruction we work from.

If you are a customer of the shop

A record of the items you brought in, what was done to them, what it cost and when it was collected. This is kept in our point of sale system so we can find your order, honour a membership allowance, and answer a question about something we cleaned for you months ago.

What we do not collect

This site does not run advertising pixels, session recording, heatmaps or other tracking. If you accept, it runs Google Analytics to count visits and pickup requests (see section 6). We do not buy information about you from anyone, and we do not build a profile of you from anywhere other than your own dealings with us. We do not ask for or store card numbers on this website.

3. Why we collect it

• To do the work. We cannot collect from an address we do not have, or return an order to someone we cannot identify.
• To reach you. To confirm a pickup, tell you an order is ready, or ask about a stain before we treat it.
• To keep our records straight. Order history, membership allowances, and the receipts a business is required to keep.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to. If we ever start a mailing list, it will be something you opt into, with an unsubscribe link on every message.

4. Where it is stored

The website itself is hosted by Hostinger. Pickup and membership requests, and our point of sale records, are stored with Supabase, a hosted database service, on servers in the United States. Contact form messages, and any email you send us, sit in our email account, which is also hosted by Hostinger.

5. Who else sees it

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We do not trade it.

It is handled by:

• Our own staff, to the extent they need it to do the job.
• The companies that host our website, email and point of sale systems, who hold the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• A tailor or specialist if your item needs work we send out, and then only what they need to do it.

We would also hand over information if the law required it of us, such as a valid court order. If that ever happened we would tell you, unless we were legally barred from doing so.

6. Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies. It asks once, with a banner, whether we may use Google Analytics to count visits and pickup requests. If you choose No thanks, nothing from Google Analytics is loaded or set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your page views, approximate location and device details, and a note when a pickup request is made. It does not receive what you type into the form. Your choice is remembered in this browser only; clear this site's stored data to be asked again.

The website does not offer customer sign-in or save a login token. If you previously signed in here, the site clears its old login token when you return. You can also clear this site's stored data through your browser settings.

7. How long we keep it

• Pickup and contact emails, for up to two years, so we can look back at what was arranged.
• Order and payment records, for seven years, which is the period a business is expected to be able to produce its records for.

8. Your rights

Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act gives residents of this state the right to ask what we hold about them, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to get a copy of it. We extend the same to anyone who asks, wherever they live, because keeping two standards would be more trouble than it is worth.

Email or call us using the details below to ask about your information. We will deal with your request within 45 days, usually much sooner. We will ask a question or two first to be sure it is really you.

If you think we have handled your request badly you can appeal by replying and saying so, and we will look at it again. You also have the right to complain to the Virginia Attorney General's office.

9. Children

This is a dry cleaner. Our services are for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will remove them.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a significant one, and we have your email address, we will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice.
